In the year 3033, humanity has squandered most of Earth's natural resources, converting most of the planet into technology, replacing significant portions of land with steel forests of pipes, screens and towers. Compensating for the mass extinction of plant and animal life, corporations started retrofitting organs and body parts with alien technology, allowing the recycling of air and water. Centuries of this cycle has left a dystopian rift between the elites and the commoners, the former living at the very top most levels of techno-cities, and the latter living at the bottom, with their steel sky lit up by neon signs and exhaust.
